Last time's winner was Manjusha Sinha!

Let's see who gets it right first this time! ;-)

The Case of The Missing Currency!

Three friends went to a restaurant and placed their orders.

The total bill was Rs. 75/-, so each of them paid Rs. 25/-.

But the manager gave them a discount of Rs. 5/-.

The waiter kept Rs. 2/- for himself and returned Re. 1/- each, to the 3 friends.

In other words, each of the 3 friends had to pay Rs. 24/-.

So, 24 + 24 + 24 = Rs. 72/- … and Rs. 2/- with the waiter.
Total Rs. 74/-.

Where did the remaining Re. 1/- go?
Please leave your answers in the comment box below.

The correct answer will be published in the next issue, along with the name of the person who gets it right first.

The hotel manager gets Rs.70(total end payment after discount) and waiter pockets Rs.2 from the discounted amount of Rs.5(Five rupees could mean 5 coins of 1 Re each). Upon adding the two we get (bill amount)70+2(what waiter has) = 72 which is exactly equal to what the men have paid 24+24+24 = 72. So 75-5=70+2=72..I'm whistling in the dark.
