Yet again Micromax has succeeded in luring its growing clientele. Here’s another Micromax 3G device which is attractive and promising too. Micromax 350G: A USB modem that works with the common operating systems like Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Mac and Linux.

A notable point about MMX 350G is that one can use this device with any service provider. I am using this device with BSNL, and surprisingly, it works fine. I have managed to get speeds up to 170 kbps (download) using BSNL 3G network with this device.

The type of network this device receives is displayed by the color of its blinking light:

  • 3G- green light
  • 2G- pink light
  • no connection- red light
  • attempting to connect- purple light

The MMX 350G is better from the last version in the way that it has a push button incorporated in its beautifully crafted body, which allows the user to reset the modem with a single touch... no need to reboot the software to do so!

Additional benefit is that it supports a memory card with a memory up to 8 GB through a Micro SD card. Also, the device has a self-stored driver for itself and there is no need for any driver CD etc. You just need to plug in the device into your computer’s USB port and it will install itself.

Micromax 350G can be used with the normal GSM Sim card or one can get a BSNL/MTNL or any other telecom operators’ 3G enabled Sim card. The only drawback is the lack of availability of proper 3G signals in the area of use. Also, it shows the SMS box of the Sim card and you can even send an SMS just as you send one through your mobile phone. It even displays your Sim card’s contact list.

As for its looks, the MMX 350G scores 8 out of 10. A beautiful sleek white square curvy body anyone would like to flaunt.

The price is not very cheap, but, not that unaffordable too - Rs. 2700/- (with 1 year warranty).

Overall, the Micromax 350G is a good option for those who like style, beauty, and can use government telecom services and 3G services, for which they need not shed hefty sum of money as in TATA Photon Plus or any other similar service provider.

And the best thing is its mobility -- I am writing this review while I am on a highway stuck in a traffic jam!

In short: the MMX 350G is a good value for money device.
